A Tale of Two Oscillators:

In my first discussion, I  gave an introduction to oscillators in framework of Classical and Quantum Mechanics and the limits in which they approach each other. This limiting behavior is essential for understanding of the fundamental aspect of oscillations at Quantum Levels and their physical interpretation as wave functions.

Isospin Symmetry and its Implications

This seminar was given to Dr. Swarup Kumar Majee as a part of Introduction Particle Physics Course. The idea was to understand the origin of concept of isospin by Heisenberg and its further expansion to classify particles in particle physics.

Non Dissipative Quantum Dynamics of Damped Harmonic Oscillator

Non hermitian Hamiltonians play an important role in the study of dissipative quantum systems. In this talk I will show that using the states with time dependent normalization, one can simplify the description of such systems especially in the context of finding the correct classical limit. I will develop the mathematical framework and then apply the prescription to study the damped harmonic oscillator system.

How to cheat Heisenberg?

In this seminar, I started from where I left last time in "Tale of Two Oscillators". This time I showed simulations of QHO states that helped us to understand uncertainty principle at first place and then I also showed how to cheat Heisenberg using some tricky quantum states. I concluded the seminarwith a statement "One simply cannot Cheat Mr. Berg but he still can be manipulated!".

Matlab Simulation Session

We discussed various types of analysis that can be done using matlab. We took Simple Harmonic Oscillator as our base problem and tried to analyse its time evolution, energy surface plots and phase space plots.
